Howard Thompson, BBDC Manager, and two BBDC client companies, Perfusion Solutions Inc. and Osteo Secure, participated in the March 26th episode of NEOtropolis. The episode focused on several topics regarding immigrant entrepreneurs. NEOtropolis airs Fridays at 8:30pm on Western Reserve PBS.

The 2009 Ohio Bioscience Growth Report is available online for review and includes economic and employment impact stats (compiled by Cleveland State University) and analysis of research, innovation, and investment indicators. As a member of BioOhio, BBDC partners with them to attract international businesses to the region.

IPCS is one of the 10 new companies recruited to the region in 2009 by Team NEO. The new companies together should add 874 new jobs and an estimated $25 million in new direct annual payroll.

03/11/2010 - LifeEventDiary is featured in Plain Dealer as New Baby Boomer Business

Dr. Paul Rosman, owner of LifeEventDiary, a program aimed at helping people better manage diabetes, launched his new venture with a kiosk at Beachwood Place. At 67, the endocrinologist, who has spent more than two decades studying diabetes, wants to help patients who get lax with monitoring and treating the disease due to cost.

JumpStart mentors about 80 companies, most of them technology-related, but CEO Ray Leach says that only 8 to 10 of them will typically find financing in a year.

12/22/2009 - 6062 Holdings LLC featured in Crain's article

With the help of the Beachwood Business Development Center, 6062 Holdings LLC almost was sure to grow. The Beachwood startup, which develops and sells a plant growth medium called Sure to Grow, should vastly increase its office space next August, when the entire development center is scheduled to move into 60,000 square feet within a city-owned building at 23550 Commerce Park.
